Babelshack is a band formed of the College of Santa Fe’s Music Program. Consisting of four members: Barnaby Hazen (guitar and vocals), David Hixon (bass), and Dylan and Westin McDowell (drums, and guitar & keys accordingly), Babelshack has captured a considerable audience in Santa Fe through shows on and off campus. They play regularly at the Santa Fe Brewing Pub and Grill. In various formations they have also played Warehouse 21, El Farol, Burt’s Tiki Lounge (in Albuquerque), and Eske’s (in Taos).
During the summer of 2005, Babelshack toured north, playing venues in Colorado from Alamosa, to Denver and Boulder. In spring of 2006 they took the South By Southwest trip, enjoying a tremendous response at several venues, and an interview on Austin college radio station KXLR. They were reviewed favorably by the same radio station in Austin, and in the Boulder Weekly.
Currently they are finishing a full length album, "Return of the Bottom Feeder."
